Welcome back to another edition of The Big List!
It has been a wet week and a wet Ekka. I enjoyed not leaving the house for 3 days then started to feel weird about it. Possibly because the sun seems to have come back in full force... well, a stronger force than what we've been used to over this winter. It is time to get out and about and get some sun!
The Korean Cultural Festival is back for it's annual celebration in King George Square, Brisbane City. The festivities start at 10am run until 3 in the afternoon. Entry is free. You can find more information on the council website.
Was David Bowie in a lot of movies, or was that some other guy? Check GOMA for the line-up of free and affordable, retro and art-house cinema. I might leave the house to see Aftersun, free, tonight at 6.
Here at BigBrisbane.au, we advocate the responsible service of alcohol. That is hard to do with Armakeggon at Archive Beer Boutique in West End from 10AM (Ten!) this Saturday. From about 12, the pub formerly known as Brewski on Caxton St will be auctioning off anything 'not screwed down'. There will also be beer.
There is a Pole Dancing Championship Show at La Boite Theatre, from 1830 Saturday night. Dancers will be competing in professional, amateur, group and battle rounds. Winners will advance to Hobart to represent QLD in the Pole Dancing Championship.
Lastly, there is a fledgling organisation called Winds of Renown hosting a new opportunities for LARP enthusiasts to play along to: The Sword Saint Combat Festival. Winds of Renown are a Japanese (Sengoku Era) re-enactment group that focuses on martial prowess and live action role-play.
