Brisbane Pride is this weekend and full confession: I haven't ever been to one. Haven't been to the races either - mostly because I'm always and often so broke that I just avoid the whole thing.
Will this year be the year I break the cycle? Perhaps.
There is an awful lot going on, a lot to choose from and possibly even a few free things to do, too!

Pride Sunday Evensong: Apology to LGBTQIA+ People
The annual celebration of affirming, acknowledging and empowering all members of the diverse in gender & sexuality community during the Brisbane Pride Festival.
Throughout the month of September the Cathedral will be decorated with rainbow ribbons, the Cathedral's collection of community pride flags are on display and a specific DiGS program will be supported by the Cathedral Community's monthly Outreach Through Offerings program.
Spectrum of Happiness at Portside Wharf
There’s nothing quite like reaching to the skies on a swing as a child, but Spectrum Of Happiness comes close.
Spectrum of Happiness is an interactive swing that invite people of all genders and generations to experience shared moments of happiness together. By swaying on the swings, people activate the movement of the LED ball over their heads, and also create a collaborative music together where their communal joy brightens above the sky.
